of tension.
A
Word from Hope:
As a licensed
massage therapist since 2002, I'm excited to now include dogs in my practice.
As a mother of three dogs I see first hand the difference massage has made
in their lives.
Since my first dog massage certification
in 2006 I have had the honor of working on thousands of dogs. I have seen
massage make a huge difference in a dogs life both mentally and physically.
As you explore dog massage keep in mind all the reasons massage is beneficial
to a person and remember how much it will benefit your four legged friend.

Welcome
to Dog Massage by Hope
I have had the privilege to touch
so many dogs and have seen enormous changes in both their physical and
emotional well bring.
Dog Massage is the manipulation of
the skin and muscle for a therapeutic purpose. When done properly massage
can greatly enhance your dog's life. I have seen results with just one
massage. Owners tell me their dogs sleep more sound, eat better and walks
are longer. Dogs that have been in pain play when I leave, stop limping
and have gone up stairs when they were stuck on the first floor.
Let me show you how to give your dog
a great massage.

Speak
with Your Veterinarian
Massage is
not, nor is it intended to be a substitute for traditional veterinary care.
It is a complementary form of health care. Always speak with your veterinarian
to make sure massage is right for your dog. Please keep me informed of
any changes in your dog, either physical or emotional. When seeking out
a professional massage therapist for your canine always make sure they
are properly trained in canine massage.
Pet
Nutrition
I recently
returned from attending a program in food therapy at the Chi Institute
for Traditional Veterinary Medicine in Reddick, Florida and am very excited
to share with you what I have learned. Food therapy is one of the
five branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Food therapy can be
used to improve health, to prevent seasonal climate related problems, to
treat many clinical conditions including skin problems, and to complement
primary treatments to treat diseases, including cancer, renal failure and
life. Food therapy is such a great modality for me to combine with
all of the other services I offer for your pups.
How would you
feel if you ate the same food every day 365 days a year? That is
what we do to our dogs, plus they are not always getting wholesome ingredients,
even if we purchase the best quality dog food. My goal is to give
my dogs their kibble with something different added all the time.
One of the statements my teachers made stuck with me. She said, “A
dog can eat Purina and survive, but can they thrive and be the best they
can be? One thing I learned in class is that there
are times that our dogs’ behavior can be directly related
to eating the wrong food. In addition, they should be eating different
foods in the summer than in the winter. So as we enter the summer,
some foods that you can incorporate would be hard boiled eggs, clams, apricots,
celery and cucumber.
Please let me
know if you are interested in scheduling a food therapy consultation before
or after your dog’s next massage.
